Stonebridge Fishing Lakes

Stonebridge Fishing Lakes, Fleetham Lane, Scruton, Northallerton, DL7 0RR, currently has two separate lakes. The first is its three-acre Trout Lake which contains rainbow trout, blue trout and brown trout running up to double figure weights. The second lake is the Coarse Lake of approximately seven acres which contains a large head of both carp and silver fish of various species. A specimen carp lake is scheduled to open in Spring 2011.

The venue has become the centre for the recently launched Stonebridge Angling Academy, a club, open to young people up to the age of 16, offering a host of benefits to its members (for further details please see the Delivery Partners section of the Yorkshire and Humber Region).

For each of the last several years, Stonebridge Lakes has hosted two Introduction to Fly Fishing junior events which have attracted up to twenty young people each time. These events are organised by the Swale, Ure and Nidd branch of the Salmon & Trout Association and are delivered by licensed coaches who are well supported by members of the Association. Further details regarding future events can be obtained from Peter Mitchell, Vice-Chairman and Training Officer, on 01845 595 074.
