South Yorkshire Sports Partnership Arrows

South Yorkshire Sport

The South Yorkshire Sports Partnership is one of a network of 49 County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) operating across England. Our catchment area covers Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. Whilst all CSPs are structured differently their roles are broadly similar.

Our Vision:

‘Enhancing people’s lives in South Yorkshire by increasing and improving opportunities in sport and active recreation’

The South Yorkshire Sports Partnership exists to bring together all who share a passion and commitment to sport.

Our role is to contribute and add value to existing programmes, as well as working with partners to develop new ideas that will strengthen the sporting offer for the region.

Our goal is to create a single infrastructure for sport and physical activity.

As an agency, semi-independent of current local government structures, we can work across the region and offer alternative access to funding and support which the local authorities may not be able to obtain. We are ideally placed to interpret national and regional policy, disseminate information and resources, whilst supporting key partners in their delivery of locally defined objectives.

Our key areas of work are:

  • Community Sport
  • National Governing Body Liaison
  • Workforce Development
  • London 2012 Olympic & Paralympics Legacy
  • PE & School Sport
  • Equity & Equality
  • Facility Development
  • Health & Physical Activity

South Yorkshire Sport is extremely happy to be supporting the development of angling through the South Yorkshire County Angling Action Group. Through this group we hope to see increased participation in angling, greater support for clubs and the development of coaches across the county.
