Get Hooked on Fishing modules

Module 1

Aim: To provide suitable role models who will positively influence the behaviour and aspirations of participants. To engage with young people and create a need within those people to continue to participate in worthwhile sport.

Module 1 will engage with participants and provide a basic introduction to Angling. Topics such as safety, caring for equipment, the environment, simple fish biology and catching fish are covered.

The course is usually taken over a two day period.

Module 2

Aim: To develop students who have completed Module 1 of 'The Trust' system to become peer-led coaches. To provide enhanced learning in life skills by using the teaching of angling & conservation as a tool. Empower those students to take ownership of the local project and have a say in the decision making process.

Criteria for Students

  • Completion of Module 1
  • Ownership of valid Rod Licence
  • Will have demonstrated improvement in behaviour
  • Has utilised the mentoring system
  • Pass an Angling Code knowledge check

Module 3

Is a residential trip away focusing on building the peer mentor further and potentially creating qualified Level 1 Angling Coaches. Residential courses available within the UK and France.
