A Peak Performance

ADB licensed coaches Peter Lax and Kate Royce from Angling in Schools (South Yorkshire) had a busy day in the Peak District when recently they provided tuition to a group of youngsters during the S&TA Junior Day. The venue for this event was a stretch of the river Wye, a tributary of the Derbyshire Derwent, which was made available courtesy of Cressbrook & Litton Fly-Fishing Club and the South Yorkshire branch of the Salmon & Trout Association.
The event coincided with the Mayfly season which resulted in a wonderful day’s fishing for all the youngsters who all caught fish; which is no mean feat when up against the wily river trout. This was a super day for everyone involved and, as the picture below shows, even the local cows came along to see how it’s done.
