Humber Sports Partnership

The Humber Sports Partnership (HSP) is a partnership of key agencies committed to proving a high quality delivery system for people to benefit from sport across the Humber sub-region.

The HSP's vision is:

"To enhance people's lives in the Humber sub-region by widening access to improved opportunities in sport and active recreation."

The HSP's overarching aim is to:

Increase participation in sport and active recreation and widen access to sport for specific priority groups - women and girls; people with a disability; people on lower incomes; black and ethnic minorities; and older people.

Our work also includes:

  • Work with NGBs to develop 'Player Pathways' for people to progress in their chosen sport
  • Coordination at a sub-regional level - investment
  • Specific programmes, eg Step-into Sport, PESSCL
  • Engaging wider partners so 'sport plays its part' across health, community safety, economic and youth agendas
  • Improving the workforce - workforce development plan to support coaches, volunteers and professionals
  • Quality information, improved marketing for sport and effective communication
  • Performance management - continuous improvement

Humber Sports Partnership has been very pleased to support the rapid progress that has been made in angling development in the county with the establishment of the Humber Angling Development Group leading to the creation of the "Angling in Schools" website. We hope that this initiative will further assist the good work that NGB licensed angling coaches are doing in providing a quality recreational experience for school-aged children.
